Apologetics & Polemics
This course introduces students to the study and practice of Christian polemics—the disciplined defense of sound doctrine against false teachings and ideological distortions. Rooted in Scripture and church history, polemics equips believers to contend earnestly for the faith (Jude 1:3) by recognizing error, articulating biblical truth, and responding with wisdom, clarity, and love.
Students will explore biblical examples of polemical engagement—from Jesus’ confrontation with false religion to Paul’s defense of the gospel—and study how the early church countered heresies that threatened Christian orthodoxy. The course also addresses modern challenges such as secularism, relativism, cults, and unbiblical movements within the church.
By the end of the course, students will be grounded in sound doctrine, able to discern truth from error, and equipped to defend the gospel in both theological and cultural contexts without compromising humility or compassion.
